When Cillian Murphy stares into oblivion thinking about the consequences of his actions, the camera zooms in highly on Murphy’s face. Well, Stephen Colbert and Nolan decided to recreate that scene but with a little twist. Christopher Nolan had the weather control in his hand.

As Colbert wears the iconic hat and the colors are black and white, menacing music plays in the background. Colbert realizes that rain has started falling, and he looks to his left and yells, “Damn it, Chris,” as the director puts the hose down, showering Colbert. As the comedian sighs, Nolan splashes his face in water, and Colbert yells, “You son of a b*tch,” and chases the director! Check out the recreation below.

From liking the Fast & Furious franchise to creating a complex movie as Tenet, Christopher Nolan is quite an enigma who is yet to be deciphered. The Inception director revealed in an interview with Variety that it was quite irresistible for him not to see Steven Spielberg watching his film and reviewing it, and that’s exactly what he did.

“He had called me about something else and I had just got the print as well and I hadn’t shown it to anyone…we screened it for him on his own. I sat behind him and watched him watch the film.”

“It was an extraordinary experience. He said some very kind things, but really just to watch him watch. I wasn’t even supposed to watch it with him, but seeing the great master watching? It was sort of irresistible.”

Nolan has received rave reviews for his 2023 magnum opus as Oppenheimer went on to earn $957 million at the global box office. The film is not yet available for streaming but is available to rent/buy on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
