And who better to stoke the flames of excitement than the game’s star himself, Clive Standen? The Vikings actor, known for his portrayal of the fierce Rollo, is bringing that same intensity to his role as Lieutenant Titus in the upcoming action extravaganza.
Standen Swaps His Viking Axe for a Chainsword
In a video released shortly after Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2‘s announcement at The Game Awards 2021, Standen showed off his Warhammer pride in the most epic way possible: by donning an Imperium-themed Christmas sweater and wielding a life-size Chainsword that, in and of itself, is enough to make any fan weak in the knees:
With his trademark charisma on full display, Standen declared:
I have a new character, and this one’s taking me into space. So any Viking axe isn’t gonna cut it out there. So Games Workshop, Saber Interactive, and Focus Entertainment let me [have] one of these.
We like to call it a ‘Chainsword’, and there’s only one character who knows how to wield this like no other, and his name is Captain Titus of the Space Marines.
If Standen’s performance as Rollo in Netflix’s Vikings is any indication, we can expect him to bring the same level of intensity and gravitas to the role of Titus.
The actor’s enthusiasm for the project is palpable, and it’s clear that he’s ready to do justice to one of the most iconic characters in the Warhammer universe.
Get Ready to Suit Up and “Kick Some A**”
Standen’s excitement for Saber Interactive‘s upcoming hack-n-slash is infectious, and he’s not shy about letting it show. In the same video, he delivered a rallying cry that’s sure to get fans pumped:
