For anyone on the fence, highly recommend the show.
If you haven’t already I would advise watching Karate Kid 1 – 3 for the best experience.
This series is a great example of a continuation show elevating the original material. I hope Hollywood and the like have taken notes. pic.twitter.com/MwmagLhGh4

Fans on X have been taken by the fact that filming for the show has begun. Now, all eyes are trained towards the release date for the show, which is expected to be somewhere between 2024 and 2025.
So, why is Cobra Kai ending?
Given that Netflix has a history of canceling great shows, some might think that that is the case with the Cobra Kai ending with Season 6 as well. However, the idea to end the show with Season 6, was not that of Netflix but that of showrunners for the show. The creator of the show tweeted out about the team’s decision:
Netflix didn’t tell us it was the last season. We told them it was the last season. We’ve always wanted to end Cobra Kai on our own terms and we are grateful we have the opportunity to do so. But that doesn’t mean we’re finished with the Miyagiverse. We love this world. #CobraKai https://t.co/sAb0GarANP

While it is great that Cobra Kai gets to end on its terms, fans cannot help but wonder if this is linked to the new Karate Kid film, announced by Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, which is due to release in the next few years. While Cobra Kai has successfully revitalized The Karate Kid IP, it seems the next step for the franchise will be to capitalize on it.
