The movie Catch Me If You Can was a big financial success. Some of the biggest actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Garner, and Christopher Walken were a part of the movie. The movie was released on 25 December 2002 and it was directed by Steven Spielberg. As the movie was based on the True story of the con man Abagnale the lead actor of the movie DiCaprio got a chance to know the 75-year-old con artist a little better. While recalling his meeting with Abagnale the Shutter Island actor said,

“He understood whatever those hidden mechanisms are that convince people to trust you. I kind of watched him and absorbed what I could from him.”

The actor also spoke about his character in the movie and said,

“There’s a certain defiance and childlike quality in the title Catch Me If You Can. I think that has a lot to do with the ego of this cocky kid who thinks he can defy everyone, and in fact, does. I mean, he had the FBI chasing their tail for years! I think he’s one of the most egocentric criminals who ever lived.”

According to reports, the 75-year-old Abagnale began by defrauding his father. In a short period, he became one of the most talked-about criminals.

No doubt Hanks is an inspiration for many young folks out there. The 67-year-old has created his legacy with his incredible movies. When DiCaprio got a chance to work with the Forrest Grump actor for the Inception actor it was a big opportunity. The Blood Diamond actor said during an interview,

“That guy… the best, a consummate professional. Tom is very much a role model for me because he is able to just refine what he does. He has such a passion and exuberance for the work. I don’t want to get cynical about what I do; I don’t ever want to lose that spirit. So he was a great example about how to retain all that even when you’re at the upper echelons of this business.”
