“It’s a great question, and I’m of the thought that, there’s a movie, ‘The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.’—There’s a quote in there that I keep getting wrong, but it goes something like, ‘When the fact becomes a legend, print the legend.'”

Rhodes further suggested that the reality of the situation or the “fact” was that he found out he was not winning in the ring when he was pinned down. When asked if there were any prior discussions about the same, he shared that he was not sure about that, before adding that he could not discuss it any further.

“So for the purpose of this answer and that question, what I’ll tell you is I found out in the ring, in the moment that he hit me with the spear and pinned me, one, two, three.”

He also shared that after losing to Reings the walk back to his bus felt “long” due to the emotional weight of his loss and getting words of encouragement from the people around him. However, fans do not seem to believe his claims.
