Blade made a voice-only cameo in a film where people least expected him to. In the post-credit scene of Eternals, Maharshala Ali’s Blade made a cameo in the post-credit scene, talking with Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman. However, according to a new MCU theory, it would seem that the character will be making his first full appearance in another film where he is least expected to.
Captain America: Brave New World is set to show Sam Wilson’s version of the characters uncovering some sort of conspiracy, or so rumors have let us believe. Given that the urban fantasy side of the MCU is still under wraps, it is quite possible that Sam Wilson would uncover the street-level magic that exists in the MCU, and in doing so, would team up with Blade.
Blade could help Captain America uncover a Vampire Conspiracy
Captain America could be busy uncovering the dark world of vampires and night creatures in Brave New World or at least come across them towards the end of the film. Blade could show up in this film after all the business with The Leader and Thunderbolt Ross is done. Blade would be looking to assemble those who can help him clean up the streets from magical threats, and Captain America is often counted on by Street Level vigilantes to help them out when dealing with local crime lords.
This would also be a great way to connect the wider MCU and the Avengers to the street-level heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a connection that had been largely missing until Hawkeye. The other candidates who could be aiding Blade in the film include Luke Cage, Dane Whitman, Iron Fist, or even Jessica Jones. Involving more vigilantes in the Captain America film will not only create a film that feels connected to the wider MCU but also give the audience the team-up movie fans have been missing so far.
The MCU desperately needs a team-up movie
In the wake of Avengers: Endgame, the MCU has seen a host of new characters introduced. It has been since 2019, however, that the audiences have been treated to a team-up film. While there have been cameos in films and new characters to explore, there has not been a united vision for the phases that came after Endgame, which a good, solid, team-up film could solve.
Captain America: Civil War was able to deliver what the lack of an Avengers movie did, and the same could be done with Captain America: Brave New World, where we could see a bunch of heroes already introduced come together to fight a bigger threat. While the Thunderbolts is on the horizon already, a film starring a host of actors from Phases 4 and 5 could do some good. Marvel must establish the core Avengers before the Avengers 5 and Secret Wars come around, and Captain America: Brave New World seems like the perfect opportunity to do so.
Captain America: Brave New World already has an Avengers-level threat that could rally a new team to fight together. Just like Civil War was a Captain America film that tore the Avengers apart, Captain America: Brave New World could assemble the next generation of Avengers to fight the good fight, ushering in a new era of the Avengers, or dare I say, a brave new world for the MCU.
