During an appearance on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Mirren recalled an incident when the controversial actor gifted her his underpants.
“And he gave me his underpants,” she said as she explained that it was like a farewell gift. The Oscar-winning actress explained that Brand was just leaving, and she visited him to say goodbye when she spotted “bright yellow” underpants. She said,
“He has this pile of books and stuff, and on the top were these bright yellow, canary yellow, Y-fronts. You know, just disgusting, not disgusting like horrible… not the pair I would personally wear.”
The actress then asked her co-star if she could keep them as a farewell gift. Brand agreed and gave her the unusual souvenir. And the Calendar Girls star also shared what she plans to do with the private gift she received from her co-star and friend.
