Neil Patrick Harris will be making his epic comeback as Barney Stinson after nine long years.
The actor, producer, and television host is set to return as the beloved How I Met Your Mother character on the show’s spin-off titled How I Met Your Father as the latter’s midseason finale remains just a few days away.
Harris last played the witty womanizer on the screen back in 2014 in the ninth and last season of the famous sitcom. So, fans are naturally seized by pure excitement at the prospect of his astonishing yet highly-welcomed return as they celebrate the legend that Barney Stinson’s character is.

Renowned for playing the manipulative yet charming heartthrob who’s always in a crisp suit regardless of where he is, Neil Patrick Harris will be playing Barney Stinson after almost a decade in How I Met Your Father‘s two-week mid-season finale which will be airing next week.
The character was first introduced alongside Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby in the CBC original How I Met Your Mother which first aired in 2005. And ever since then, Harris’ Stinson got incredibly famous amongst the audience with people practically drooling over the fictional character. The Uncoupled star even bagged four Primetime Emmy nominations for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy show due to the same.
How I Met Your Mother had a good run for nine reasons, albeit its ending was deemed rather unsatisfactory by fans. However, the show continues to be a fan-favorite and a comedy classic to this very date. And now, after all these years, Harris, 49, is ready to take over as Barney Stinson once again in the HIMYM spin-off starring Hilary Duff, Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, and Tom Ainsley.

How I Met Your Father is a Hulu original that picks up after the events that transpired nine years ago in How I Met Your Mother. The spin-off narrates the story of how Sophie, who is portrayed by Hilary Duff in the series, came across the father of her son. Besides Duff, Raisa, Lowell, and Ainsley, the show also stars the likes of Suraj Sharma, Josh Peck, Kim Cattrall, and Tien Tran.
The mid-season finale of the spin-off starring Harris Barney Stinson will air on March 28, 2023.
