Since skyrocketing to fame as the latest actor to play James Bond, Daniel Craig has become a highly-sought after actor. His departure from the James Bond franchise has left a giant vacuum that has made the producers cautious about who they select next to become the super-spy.

With Henry Cavill and Idris Elba being a few of the top contenders for the role, the producers seem interested in redefining the James Bond franchise, as they did with Daniel Craig. His character had far more human consequences and emotions compared to his predecessors.
Daniel Craig as Bond and future projects
He first played 007 in Casino Royale, which soon became the highest-grossing film in the franchise. The actor continued to star in a roller coaster of Bond films with many receiving mixed reception. On the other hand, Skyfall was the most successful James Bond film yet, loved by both critics and fans.
Daniel Craig decided to leave the franchise in style with Cary Joji Fukunaga’s No Time to Die. It starred Rami Malek as Lyutsifer Safin and Ana De Armas as Bond girl Paloma. It was the first film in the franchise to end with the death of James Bond.

Since No Time to Die, the actor has remained rather idle, being far more selective with his roles. He will be portraying Benoit Blanc in the third installment of Knives Out, which is expected to release around 2024. But something far more interesting seems to be brewing as he’s now joining a new franchise.
Is Daniel Craig in the MCU?
Banking on his immense popularity like John Krasinski and Oscar Issacs, the Quantum of Solace actor has entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to a report by Giant Freakin Robot, the actor will star in an upcoming Disney+ series as Balder the Brave, an Asgardian warrior.

Coming from the land of Thor and Loki, his location at the beginning remains a mystery since Asgard was destroyed by Surtur and now most of the natives are living in Earth’s New Asgard. Despite being noble and heroic in the comics, some believe he might compete for the throne against Valkyrie.
Craig was actually supposed to be introduced as Balder the Brave in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and was supposed to be one of the members of the Illuminati alongside Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Anson Mount’s Black Bolt, but was eventually cut from the film.

As Daniel Craig brings in considerable acting chops and experience to the film, it could be an interesting watch, or it could end with a dud like Moon Knight. But Marvel shows have been struggling to stick the landing, so this pairing might do the trick.
