Rian Johnson was rather busy writing the scripts of the Knives Out sequel and his reported Star Wars project. But when asked about lies ahead, in an interview with Wired, Rian Johnson stated that he has already started working on the third Knives Out movie. He claimed,

“So much of what I’m trying to do, because I’m starting to write the next one, is really just about trying to clear my head and think about what’s on my mind right now. Hopefully that translates in some way to what’s on all of our minds right now in terms of culture.”

Further, when he was asked about the plot, Johnson said, “No. You got any ideas for me?” As the first two movies took place in the spring and summer respectively, it is highly possible that this time around the time frame for the third movie could be in winter, with November as its prime setting.
