Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus has revealed an alleged plan for almost all upcoming MCU projects including Daredevil: Born Again. According to reports, Marvel will make a strategic shift, which will include an adaptation of the Devil’s Reign storyline. And we all know, this means Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will pit against Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
MCU Will Reportedly Adapt the Devil’s Reign Storyline
It is no secret that Marvel Studios have been facing major struggles with their projects following the dawn of the Multiverse Saga. Fans have repeatedly pointed out inconsistent storytelling, lazy writing in some cases, and poor VFX in the projects. Thus, it seems Marvel is now in desperate need of some changes.
According to Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, the franchise has revealed its alleged plans for almost all upcoming MCU projects including Daredevil: Born Again. Reportedly focusing on a strategic shift to quality over quantity going forward, Perez revealed that Marvel will reportedly focus on the Devil’s Reign arc.
Marvel Studios is reportedly seeking to adapt the Devil’s Reign storyline, mirroring much of the original comic’s premise. Therefore, based on reports, Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil: Born Again will culminate in the MCU’s version of this story arc. Further, sources have also cited Dark Reign and Gang War as influences.
Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin Will Fight Charlie Cox’s Daredevil
As per reports, if Marvel truly adapts the Devil’s Reign storyline it will majorly influence Hawkeye, Echo, and Daredevil projects. According to the original comics, this particular story arc saw The Kingpin outlaw all superheroes and vigilantes after becoming New York City Mayor.
As the far-reaching saga centers around Kingpin, he unleashes hell on the Marvel Universe, with his villainous scheme against some of the greatest Marvel superheroes. Thus, adapting this particular Devil’s Reign arc will mean a possible fight between Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again.
With Kingpin being ready to ruthlessly expose his foes to gain more power, he will need to be stopped. But since he outlawed all vigilantes, the superheroes will have to plan against him in secret. Thus, such a massive change will definitely pit Daredevil and Kingpin against each other. This arc gives hope to fans of a major fight sequence in Daredevil: Born Again.
