For those who do not know, the DC comic Absolute editions are classic graphic novels that are resized and reformatted with a new look.

Each Absolute edition contains the graphic novel with additional materials such as comic sketches, scripts, memos and behind the scenes looks.

The novels are hardcover, dustjacket, and slipcase. In addition to this, they are recolored, corrected, and restored from their original work. This makes the Absolute series a fantastic way to read for any DC fan.

Classic DC stories in this Absolute series include Watchmen, Batman: The Long Halloween, and Batman Year One.

With the story set in an alternate timeline and Batman’s adventures taking place in 1889, it would be interesting to see the concepts, artwork, drawings, and sketches that led to Gotham by Gaslight.  It would also be interesting to see the novel recolored and reformatted as well as resized to an Absolute edition so that fans can have a better look at the story.

Hopefully, in the future, fans will get an Absolute edition but even if they don’t, the supposed other format may very well bring Gotham by Gaslight new life.

Whilst the Absolute edition isn’t happening anymore, there is the original that can be read at any time and the animated film. FandomWire will keep you up to date on whatever this new format may be.
