DC’s ‘Birds Of Prey’ Release Date Revealed

The release date of the upcoming Birds of Prey film has been set by Warner Bros. and if everything goes according to the plan, the film will release on February 7, 2020.

The film will see Margot Robbie returning to reprise her role as Harley Quinn. For now, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have been considered for the testing of the lead roles.

For those who don’t know, the Birds of Prey are a team of street-level female DC characters like Huntress and Black Canary. The film might also add Orphan, Cassandra Cain and Renee Montoya into the mix. A brutal crime lord named Black Mask is rumored to be the villain in the film.

Batgirl is also one of the founding members of the Birds of Prey. While Batgirl has her own standalone film in development, there have been rumors stating that she will make her DC debut in Birds of Prey. The scripts for both the films is being written by Christina Hodson.

Cathy Yan will be directing the film for Warner Bros. while Robbie herself will be the film’s producer. A solo movie for Harley is also rumored along with a twisted Harley Quinn & The Joker movie as well as a Gotham City Sirens film, directed by David Ayer.

The Birds of Prey team made its debut in 1995’s Black Canary/Oracle: Birds of Prey when Dinah Lance and Barbara Gordon shook hands, forming a large organisation of bird-themed heroes, mainly women.
