While it is public knowledge that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be one of the key characters in the film, images from the set confirmed that some X-Men alums like Sabretooth and Toad will also make appearances. Deadpool 3 Trailer Reveals That X-Men’s Pyro Is Back

July 26th just got a little closer for fans as the trailer of Deadpool 3 was released during Super Bowl Sunday with its official title, Deadpool and Wolverine. The name evidently suggests that this film will be a Ryan ReynoldsHugh Jackman show with the foul-mouthed anti-hero and the clawed mutant reuniting for the first time since 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Aaron Stanford’s Pyro will be a part of Deadpool 3

While the trailer expectedly gave nothing away in terms of the story, hawk-eyed fans were treated to a fleeting glimpse of another X-Men villain Pyro played by Aaron Stanford who was earlier part of 2003’s X2 and 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. The hot-headed mutant’s presence could indicate that he may be one of the members of The Resistance that Reynolds’ character could lock horns with in the film.

The trailer also does not feature Jackman’s Wolverine until the final marquee shot which brilliantly uses the character’s shadow to introduce his presence. Deadpool 3 will also see many recurring characters like Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, Karan Soni’s Dopinder, and Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead among others.

Aaron Stanford Was Tight-Lipped About Pyro Ahead Of Deadpool 3 Trailer

The highly anticipated trailer of Deadpool 3 is finally out and fans are already analyzing every aspect of it. While there are no spoilers regarding the narrative and plot, Marvel buffs noted that Pyro from X-Men will be part of the action along with Deadpool and Wolverine.

Adam Stanford was tight-lipped about his involvement in the MCU as Pyro ahead of Deadpool 3 trailer

But Adam Stanford who returns to reprise the role that he played in the 2003 and 2006 X-Men films, teased audiences a few days before the trailer drop by playing his cards close to his chest. In an interview with The Direct during the promotion of his new film Finestkind, Stanford was asked if he would be interested in playing Pyro in the MCU. The actor was cleverly non-committal at the time and said,

“I’d have to think about it. You know, it’s a character that, I’ve been there and done that. I quite enjoyed it. And I still have many, many fond memories and a lot of lasting friendships from those experiences… I don’t know, man. It’s an intriguing question. I would have to consider it.”

With the mutant now clearly a part of Deadpool 3, Stanford’s answer just days before the trailer release echoed Andrew Garfield’s similar response when asked about his potential involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home. As it turned out, Garfield’s misleading ploy worked wonders for the film judging by how audiences went into raptures when he appeared on screen. While Pyro’s presence has already been confirmed through the trailer, the nature of his role will still be highly anticipated by fans.
