Shawn Levy Compares Stranger Things With Blockbusters
Nearly seven years ago Matt and Ross Duffer took the perfect opportunity to expertly assemble a stellar cast and tease the Gen-X nostalgia. Creating a family melodrama with an unexpected sci-fi horror adventure to the Upside Down, the Duffer brothers came up with an enticing, crowd-pleasing storytelling that is finally coming to its end with season 5.
Running on Netflix for years and serving 4 gripping seasons, the Duffer brothers promised a brilliant ending for the characters and the chapter in Hawkins, Indiana, with season 5. On a recent note, even the show’s director Shawn Levy confidently pronounced the same, during his interview with Total Film magazine.
“There’s no way to be contiguous with season 4, and not, frankly, expand scale and depth. It’s major, major, cinematic storytelling that happens to be called a TV series. Stranger Things 5 is as big as any of the biggest movies that we see.”
Teasing the audience about the upcoming season 5, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy mentioned creating a blockbuster-like experience for the viewers. Considering the benchmark set by the show’s season 4, Levy claimed, the finale will be even more humongous. Competing with itself, the director promised a perfect closure to the story.
Stranger Things Season 5 Will Be Better Than Best
Comparing the brilliance of Stranger Things with blockbuster movies, Shawn Levy expects his show to surpass MCU’s $2.7B Avengers: Endgame, which holds its position among one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. Claiming that it’s quite possible for the show, considering the large viewership that it attained over the years, Levy feels positive about the season 5 finale.
Well, to be honest, while fans are genuinely heartbroken realizing Stranger Things has come to its end, they are also excited for the epic finale. Having high hopes surrounding the final season, especially after the series successfully hooked the audiences to the screen, fans are waiting for it to kick off filming right after the Hollywood strikes come to an end.
