Both Wolverine and Deadpool fans are excited to see the pair on screen and while this is exciting, this isn’t the first time both these superheroes will be teaming up. The last non-comic team-up between Wolverine and the Merc with a Mouth was in the 2013 game and it was nothing less than incredible.

The 2013 Deadpool game was developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game follows Deadpool as he joins the X-Men and goes on exciting adventures and features mature humor and violence. The game received mixed reviews but was highly praised for its comedic take on the characters with self-referential humor and story.

The gameplay of the game sees players engage in battles with enemies using Deadpool’s signature weapons, guns, and swords as well as get some exciting weapons such as hammers and plasma guns with incredible swordplay. Players get new combos as they progress through the story.

One of the main attractions of the game is when Deadpool meets Wolverine after he crash lands on the abandoned island of Genosha. Once he lands, he finds everyone cold after the crash. However, players can interact with the unconscious Wolverine and throw his body at an area where they can also smack him as many times as they want, and that too repeatedly. It takes about a hundred slaps to complete an achievement in the game and fans have enjoyed this a little too much.

Deadpool is known for breaking the fourth wall in the comics and he’s the only superhero who knows that he is a comic character. The Merc with a Mouth breaks the fourth wall in the game as well and knows that he is a video game character. The character is voiced by Nolan North, and Nathan Drake from Uncharted, and as the game progresses, the wall-breaking commentary gets hilarious with every passing minute with quirky one-liners and quips.

North can also be heard having an amazing time voicing the character with his enthusiastic dialogue delivery. The game also sees the Merc with a Mouth constantly engage in conversation with himself but does not seem to take anything seriously and constantly annoys his enemies, even during fights. The game impressed players with the gameplay elements and plot, especially with those Wolverine slapping moments.

Although Deadpool 3 will see Mr. Loudmouth join Wolverine and allegedly go against a common enemy. While fans might not see both heroes engage in slap fights, we can expect some banter, and the “Merc with a Mouth” annoys Wolverine who’s almost always in a serious mood.
