The roster for Marvel Rivals continues to grow. The most recent release of Jeff the Land Shark has overturned the balance for the support/strategist role with a kit that still needs balancing.

There’s a ton of heroes in the game already. From Iron Man to Spider-Man to the Black Panther, some of Marvel’s most iconic characters are here and accounted for. However, NetEase will keep adding new Marvel Rivals characters to spice up the meta.

The likes of Captain America and Mr. Fantastic are absent from the current roster. One character fans are eyeing after watching Deadpool & Wolverine is one you would least expect.

While NetEase are very likely to add Wolverine and Deadpool to the game, a shining star of the 2024 film has been conceptualized for the game’s roster. It’s not one of the many cameos or surprise appearances in the later half of the film but it’s Peter, an original character created for the Deadpool films.

In the concept, he would be a strategist who borrows a lot of Deadpool’s guns and weapons to get into the action. He would have the tools to heal allies and save himself from potential dives from the enemy team.

For example, his right-click would heal allies, similar to Kiriko’s left-click in Overwatch 2, and his third ability would make himself invulnerable to one enemy with a long cooldown to balance it out.

The ultimate ability would heal all allies on the map to full health instantly, making his words of encouragement and support ring that much louder. A fun character concept that has won over many within the Marvel Rivals community.

NetEase appears to be pulling more from comic books than film original characters. While the likes of Iron Man and the Scarlet Witch are in the game and only gained popularity from their adventures on the big screen, there’s no film original characters in the game yet.

Jeff the Land Shark is a character who hasn’t made an appearance in film or television, only in the pages of comic books and other Marvel games.

The success of Deadpool & Wolverine makes it obvious to add the titled characters to the game. The merc with a mouth and Logan would make ideal duelists, even though the game already has so many.

Characters who made surprise guest appearances in the film could also be added to the project, but Wolverine and Deadpool are the obvious choices.

If NetEase did want to start pulling original movie or television characters, Peter wouldn’t be a terrible choice. Some balancing does need to be done for the kit, but he can be just as fun of a joke character as Jeff the Land Shark is right now.

Dr. Doom appears to be on the horizon, but other characters fans want include Black Widow, the Winter Soldier, Blade, and Moon Knight.

What do you think of this character concept? Who do you want to see in Marvel Rivals? Let us know in the comments what you think!
