Legendary martial artist Bruce Lee had to literally give it all to master the art of Kung-fu during his prime. With a bizarre diet that would leave people feeling nauseated and some hardcore exercises along the way, Lee had to follow s strict regime and routine for his fitness.

Despite the ample amounts of protein and food that he used to eat, Bruce Lee never became obese during his lifetime. In a recent Instagram video, Lee was seen doing 5 exercises other than martial arts that were a part of his training which helped him maintain his physique.

Why Bruce Lee Never Gained Weight Despite A Massive Diet

From what his biography tells us, Bruce Lee had a weird dish made for himself that contained quite some unsavory tastes. With the unique dish being an everyday necessity, his friend and author James Coburn revealed the recipe which might make some people nauseous for its insane amount of protein.

As per the book, Lee would drink a protein shake that consisted of Rheo Blair Protein Powder, ice water, powdered milk, eggs, eggshells, bananas, vegetable oil, peanut flour, and chocolate ice cream. The actor also drank beef blood since it was a great source of protein and water. Despite such a heavy protein diet, Lee never became obese.

In an Instagram video shared on Lee’s account, the star showed his fans himself doing various exercises. The exercises were not at all tough to do and were quite simple ones that any person can do. The video showcased Bruce Lee running, stationary bike, skipping rope, shadowboxing, and sparring. These simple exercises were enough for Bruce Lee to maintain his physique since the actor and martial artist always stayed fit.

Despite the martial artist being a legend, visionary director Quentin Tarantino allegedly portrayed  Lee in a bad light. Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee stated that the director was “irresponsible” for the bad portrayal.

In the 2019 film titled Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, actor Mike Moh, portrayed the role of Bruce Lee. The martial artist was shown in a bad light for which China refused to release the movie in theaters. Quentin Tarantino defended his portrayal by stating that was actually “an arrogant guy” in real life. In an interview with Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience, Quentin Tarantino talked about how he understood Shannon Lee’s feelings.

“Where I am coming from is I can understand his daughter having a problem with it. It’s her f*cking father. I get that. But anybody else, oh, suck a d*ck!”

With several movies to his name and a legendary status acquired, Bruce Lee died on 20th July 1973. The martial artist is survived by his daughter Shannon Lee.
