Dwayne Johnson is having a rough couple of years with back-to-back releases of films such as Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, and  Black Adam. All the aforementioned films failed to live up to their hype and generate numbers that would deem them profitable after having such huge budgets. Therefore, according to film critic Jeff Sneider, the actor is allegedly having a hard time getting green-lit from the studios thus in turn forcing him to return to the Fast and Furious franchise, which he previously swore he would never come back.

Amazon does not want to take the risk and wants Dwayne Johnson out of Red One

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been a part of the entertainment industry for a long time and has kept himself in the spotlight, as solid as a rock, staying true to his name. Just a few years ago, the mere mention of his name was more than enough to secure a movie’s success. Now that the audience is evolving, they demand a compelling story that will intrigue their thought process. Thus, movies like Red Notice and  Black Adam showcase the classic case of misjudging the potential of a project and the market. According to the film critic and the host of The Hot Mic with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha, Jeff Sneider, the actor is not having a good year.

Johnson was set to start working on an Amazon holiday action movie called Red One alongside Chris Evans but turns out that could not be the case since, Johnson’s box-office performance of the last few years failed to impress the studio and thus, in turn, the studio is allegedly pulling the rug out of him. He said,

“I’m hearing that Dwayne is [having] trouble getting greenlights after his last couple movies, which are Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, [and] Black Adam. And so basically, he was forced to go back to the character of Hobbs and do this [Fast & Furious] franchise. And the thing that doesn’t bode well is that this individual is also saying that Red One is not good as well. Red One is his upcoming Amazon one, and I’ve heard that Amazon is the latest studio to be like, ‘Yeah, we’re done doing this experience again.’”
