Destiny 2, which has been active and released on various consoles for more than seven years, is about to release its final story expansion. Bungie launched the trailer only days ago. This was due to an error on the PS5 version of the game; the content would have been released next week.

This type of leaked content has the potential to negatively impact both the studio’s sales and the players’ expectations. Clay Murphy, the lead writer of Alan Wake 2, has publicly criticized the leakers and expressed his support for the game’s team.

He also stated that playing the content before its official release is not a good practice for any player. The studio also put up a large thread talking about this on X.

Other members of the dev community also expressed their thoughts and frustration with the situation. Developers of games like GTA 6 and other big titles supported what happened to the Destiny 2 team, especially now that the content is just a week away. This is not the first time that something like this has happened to the Sony server and cloud infrastructure. The company should be revising its security protocols.

Fans of the game expressed their shock upon discovering the spoilers, stating that they couldn’t venture anywhere without encountering a spoiler for The Final Shape DLC. This particular content will mark the end of the DLC releases for the game, and Bungie will begin to focus on other titles like the Marathon remake and other possible projects. The studio could even be working on a new Destiny entry.

On June 4, this content will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4, PS5, and PC. With the release of this final DLC, the game’s reality will undergo a permanent transformation, rendering perception entirely meaningless. It will be a war between light and darkness. Humanity will unite its strongest defenders to prevent the end of the world. The players who complete the legendary mode of the game will receive amazing rewards.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
