In Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark did something so major related to 35 unseen suits that isn’t looking great for the MCU. And the next saga in the Iron Man and War Machine series, Armor Wars, might be connected to Stark’s last 35 unseen suits—at least according to a theory.
What did he do? So, Tony Stark made a bunch of suits from Mark 51 to 84 to combat increasingly powerful threats like Thanos.
Now that he’s not around, the question remains: who will take care of those suits from falling into the wrong hands? The Earth’s probably cluttered with Iron Man suits, each one a mini weapon of mass destruction in itself.
Looks like James Rhodes will now step into the chaos, trying to fix Stark’s unintentional mess in the upcoming flick. A Reddit theorist hints that this war’s origin (that will be seen in Armor Wars) might be hidden in the 35 suits Tony crafted during The Blip.

Why did Tony build 35 suits between Endgame and Infinity War? What Happened to Them?
Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark faced his worst nightmare, left for dead in space in Avengers: Infinity War. We do know that eventually, he married Pepper Potts and settled into a cabin with their daughter.
While some supervillains are gone, many heroes are, too, leaving the rest exhausted and dealing with the aftermath of the snap. Tony Stark has traded his skyscraper for a cabin, but the world remains perilous for him.
After sacrificing himself in The Avengers, Tony Stark carried the weight of trauma in the form of PTSD, leading him to build dozens of Iron Man suits (accounting from Mark 8-41).
When he lost to Thanos and failed to save half the universe, it likely added another layer of pain. Crafting armor is his response to traumatic events. So, perhaps he kept working on more than one of those 35 suits, like what he did in Iron Man 3, possibly for his child.
How Could the Iron Suits Spark the Armor War?
None of Tony Stark’s suits from Mark 51 to Mark 84 were ever seen. It seems like these Iron Suits might’ve ended up in the wrong hands, as per the theory by DeathLight7000 on Reddit. So, this is expected to play a role in the upcoming Armor Wars.
In Armor Wars, we’ll see the mess Tony created with all his suit/weapon-making. The problem is that the Avenger is not around anymore to keep those suits from falling into the wrong hands.
But James Rhodes will be there to cover for him, suggesting that these unseen designs might include armor meant for Rhodey. So yes, per the theory, Armor Wars could unfold as the tale of how these 35 mysterious suits ended up in the wrong hands. It would be sad to see Stark’s original intention to create designs meant to save lives taking a negative turn.
A release date for Armor Wars has not yet been confirmed, but it is slated for a 2026 release.
