Elon Musk is a businessman but still finds time to pick up a controller and slay digital enemies in tough video games like Elden Ring and Diablo 4. Gaming is an expensive but effective form of therapy that can put the mind at ease and increase productivity at an exponential rate.
Sometimes it is a good idea to forget real-life problems and jump into another world for a few hours and let the inner child take over. Musk has a lot of things on his mind but finds solace and comfort in games that require coordination and critical thinking.
Elden Ring and Diablo 4 Are Elon Musk’s Comfort Games
It can be wholesome to see a person with a high profile like the CEO of Tesla pass the time like regular folk through playing video games. The businessman was invited as a guest on the podcast of computer scientist Lex Fridman and asked about what Musk got out of playing video games and his answer is quite relatable.

The feeling of progression and always being on the move is one of the best feelings in the world that video games can give. Admittedly, the businessman prefers to play games that are not too hard but also not too easy, and Hidetaka Miyazaki’s latest Soulslike scratches that itch for him. Perhaps the fragmented storytelling has caught the attention of Musk accompanied by a complicated combat system.
While some find playing video games beneath them, these interactive pieces of media can do as much good as they can harm as any other piece of entertainment. Being able to feel like the hero or the superior man in the room is perfectly in line with the character of the businessman and makes him much more endearing by the way he chooses to unwind like a regular person who does not share his intellect or his responsibilities.
Elon Musk Enjoys Playing Video Games for His Sanity
Video games have made remarkable technological advancements in recent years, but unfortunately, these achievements often go unnoticed. Many people fail to appreciate the many benefits that video games can offer, such as improving cognitive skills, enhancing problem-solving abilities, and promoting social interaction. It’s a shame that not enough attention is given to these positive aspects of gaming.
Not only do games encourage players to use their heads for fighting but to think quickly on the fly. Elden Ring is a stressful game to get used to due to the intense nature and core of FromSoftware and Diablo 4 encourages a player to think carefully about which items to use or discard.
Resource management is an effective form of training to handle real-life inventory and allocation which Musk is greatly accustomed to with his role and duty as a CEO and figurehead in the public eye.
Elon Musk is a very complicated man and regardless of what people think of him, the majority of the gaming community can all agree with his sentiments about how therapeutic playing video games can be. What are your comfort games? Let us know in the comments section below!
