Diablo 4 has a new and surprising promotion, which has been made with the purpose of drawing attention to the game in question. But this time, it appears Blizzard has decided to go beyond certain limits.

In a recently revealed and exclusive promotion, a custom special edition PC with a liquid cooling system incorporating “real human blood” was unveiled.

Although it may seem bizarre, the campaign also has a noble objective, as this specimen will only be made available if 666 liters of blood are donated to the blood donation campaign in the USA. This partnership aims to raise awareness and involve the gaming community in these altruistic campaigns that save lives.

Blizzard chose chaos with a new promotional giveaway for Diablo 4.

Even though the goal is beautiful and supportive, the whole concept is still macabre and dark, and all of this has attracted a lot of attention, generating controversies and discussions online.

In the video you can find below, posted by the developer on YouTube, it is offering this creepy and powerful prize by a draw that promotes Diablo 4‘s Season of Blood. It is also with the purpose of encouraging blood donations to hospitals in the United States.

The “bloody” draw encourages players to visit blood donation centers in the United States from October 20 to November 20, 2023, and register their contributions. The goal is for these donations to exceed 666 quarts of blood collected before time runs out.

Thus, the “ritual” will be complete, and the prize will finally be drawn to the community. But it doesn’t stop there, because there are other objectives in this ‘Blood Harvest’.

With 220 quarts of blood donated, players will earn the ‘Bloodpetal’ cosmetics for their weapons, which include Dagger: Bloodpetal Anlace, Axe: Bloodpetal Sever, Necromancer Focus: Bloodpetal Heart, Sword: Bloodpetal Blade, and Druid’s Staff: Bloodpetal Bludgeon.

With 440 quarts reached, all players receive the ‘Loch Raeth Maor Barbarian Armor’ cosmetic, in addition to the weapon cosmetics from the previous level.

Diablo 4‘s new campaign offers prizes for saving lives

If the goal of 666 quarts of blood is donated, in addition to all the items from the levels above, all players will receive the ‘Vermilion Eye Piebald’ mount and unlock the personalized PC for raffle (where only US players over 18 years old compete).

The date for these awards is set for November 22nd, just under a month from now. The details of the blood part were not very well explained, but we have information about this machine that will hopefully reach the hands of a lucky donor.

The Diablo 4 PC given away by Blizzard is powered by an Intel Core i9 13900K Processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, 3 TB of NVMe M.2 SSD storage, EK-Quantum Vector GPU Water Block and Case with Exclusive Diablo color palette and custom Season of Blood graphics. “Real human blood” seems unlikely to float through the actual circuit, however, these specifics were not shared.

Perhaps it’s more plausible that this liquid cooling has dehydrated blood used as paint pigment, behind a glossy coating or something of that nature.

But Blizzard also opened an FAQ about the promotion to clarify fans’ many doubts. Both the FAQ and registration can be accessed on the campaign’s official website. Are you ready to compete and this mission and donate your blood for the cause?
