During the second episode of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo, the protagonist of the series decides to sacrifice himself to save everyone else in the double dungeon. This led to Sung Jinwoo gaining a totally different and extraordinary power that has never been seen before in the world of Solo Leveling.
It was initially revealed that what Sung Jinwoo experienced in the Double Dungeon is termed a second awakening in the world of Solo Leveling and is actually a very rare phenomenon. However, after doing the necessary checkups, it was found that Sung did not undergo a second awakening because they could not see the power that was granted to him in the dungeon.
Although it was proved that Sung Jinwoo did not have any second awakening, he still managed to get access to a power/ability called a system. This led to a huge debate between the Solo Leveling fans about whether or not Sung experienced a second awakening.

Did Sung Jinwoo Have a Second Awakening?
The focus of Solo Leveling is on hunters who battle mystical animals that pose a threat to humanity by going through an “Initial Awakening.” An uncommon “Second Awakening,” on the other hand, can give some hunters enhanced abilities beyond what they initially gained upon awakening.
Their power is greatly increased by this second magical awakening, effectively giving them a quick boost up the rankings. It was possible for someone to go straight from C-Rank to A-Rank, B-Rank, or even S-Rank after experiencing a Double Awakening. Everyone is surprised when Sung Jinwoo returns alive from the D-Rank Dungeon that murdered the majority of his friends.
To assess the situation, the officials tested Sung Jinwoo to see if he had a second awakening, but the results proved them wrong. However, Sung did get a power-up known as System which is totally different from a second awakening. Therefore, it can be said that what Sung Jinwoo experienced was not a reawakening, but was granted a power that had been never seen before.
Sung Jinwoo’s System Ability in Solo Leveling is Different from Reawakening
Sung Jinwoo’s development as a Hunter surpasses a Second Awakening when he acquires the System ability and becomes the Shadow Monarch’s vessel. The System selected Jinwoo to be its Player when he freely opted to remain and make himself a sacrifice in the double dungeon.
The System functioned similarly to a video game, giving Jinwoo access to system quests with special rewards, a leveling system with various skills and stats, an infinite inventory where he could keep all kinds of magical items, and even an integrated store where she could purchase goods with the game’s gold currency.
The System had originally been created by the Architect(The hidden boss of Double Dungeon) to assist Ashborn(Monarch of Shadows) in breeding a human vessel capable of fully absorbing his powers. Its video game interface was also purposefully created so that Jinwoo could easily and rapidly become used to it.
