Daniel Radcliffe Is Guilty About Earning So Much Money

Daniel Radcliffe earned a whopping $95.5 Million for his work in the Harry Potter franchise. He worked hard for every movie. However, he never believed that he deserved the money he got. He earned a lot but he never believed he worked the way he should have to get that amount of money.

“If somebody asked me, ‘Did you think you deserve that money?’ No, of course I didn’t. ‘But would you have taken it anyway?’ Of course. I happened to have found this industry where people get paid stupid amounts of money. That’s the reality. I feel almost guilty for having done so well out of Potter.”

He stated that it would not take him a lot to give all of that money away because of how guilty he feels. Radcliffe admitted that he got lucky with the industry he ended up in because of the money it offers. No matter what movie he does, he will always end up earning a large sum of money and that is something he credits to his career as Harry Potter.

Daniel Radcliffe Had Advantages Many Never Got

Daniel Radcliffe never realized just how lucky he was until Gary Oldman pointed that out to him. It took him a long time to understand that being Harry Potter gave him the advantage of choosing the direction of his career. Many child actors never get such a privilege. Instead, a path is laid out for them.

We had a conversation once, just about careers and all that, and he said, ‘You have f***-you money. So use it,’” Radcliffe added. “It just means you get to make the kind of career for yourself that you want. Like, all my friends – you get an audition, it doesn’t matter what the script’s like. You’re going in for it. And if you get it, you do it. And to be able to say no, to have some control over where my career is going – yeah, it’s amazing.”

That was not the case for Radcliffe. He could reject scripts and choose the movies he wanted to do. He could write his own path and choose the direction of where his career would go.
