David Cronenberg believes that a movie involving Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart can be problematic

While speaking with Variety, David Cronenberg explained that even though he wanted to bring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart together for one of his movies. He doesn’t think fans of the Twilight movies will be open to his vision for their characters. Considering that their fans are already accustomed to seeing them in a certain kind of relationship in the Twilight movies, Cronenberg believes that it will eventually tarnish his vision for the characters. He said,

“It might be problematic since fans might expect a certain kind of relationship and that would get in the way of creating new characters for them. So, I have a strange feeling that might be problematic, so it’s only theoretical for now,”
