With the lowest review score of any Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series, Secret Invasion’s first episode was met with some disastrous reviews. Unable to live up to the hype, the serious suffered low viewership as compared to other MCU shows. However, at the same time, FX/Hulu series The Bear Season 2 has set new records, quashing its parent company Disney’s star-studded Secret Invasion.

Fans of the FX comedy series The Bear had an eventful weekend as they eagerly tuned in to the show’s second season. The latest announcement from FX and Hulu revealed that The Bear Season 2 witnessed a significant surge in total hours streamed within the first four days following its June 22 premiere.

How did The Bear Season 2 outshine Secret Invasion?

In comparison to the post-premiere period of Season 1, the second season of The Bear experienced a remarkable 70% increase in streaming activity. While specific viewership figures for the Season 2 premiere were not disclosed, FX and Hulu proudly declared that it marked the most-watched premiere of any FX series on Hulu. Notably, the first season of The Bear, which debuted on June 23, 2022, had already secured the title of the most-watched single season of a comedy series in FX history.

On the contrary, MCU’s Disney series Secret Invasion’s first episode did not sit well with Marvel fanatics. Calling it a slow start to a darker more mature theme, the series sits at a 66% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Whereas, The Bear Season 2 has received a whopping 100%.

Many critics called the MCU verse’s highly anticipated series an attempt to do something different. However, unhappy with the use of AI for its title sequence, many Marvel fans seemed unhappy with the use of technology in the series. Although the first episode was slow, it is revealed that it ends at a shocking twist, promising a better episode on June 28, 2023.
