Bridgit Mendler has had a very storied career in not just acting, but also modeling, voice acting, singing, and as of 2023, information technology. Having starred in shows like Wizards of Waverly Place, Good Luke Charlie, and Jonas, Mendler has also done voice work for films like The Legend of Buddha and Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, while also venturing into video game voice work with Bone: The Great Cow Race.

More recently, while the actress has working on her college degrees, the Father of the Year alum has started her own start-up, that focuses on making ground stations to make communications with satellites easier, allowing smaller entities to work with space tech and satellites without having to share ground stations or wait for months to have one of them available.

Bridgit Mendler began her career with an Indian film. The Legend of Buddha,  voicing a young Buddha. Her next role came on General Hospital, where she starred for one episode at the age of 13. During the same year, she starred in her as-of-yet-only video game voice credit: Bone: The Great Cow Race, which was released in April 2006.

Mendler’s next project, Alice Upside Down, also happens to be her first singing credit, along with her debut in an antagonistic role. Serving as a rival to the protagonist of the film, Alice, Mendler played the character of Pamela. She also provided backing vocals for the song Free Spirit, which was featured in the film.

Mendler then went on to debut in her first lead role in the following year, with the film The Clique, based on a novel of the same name written by Lisi Harrison. Mendler’s next film only got a TV release in America but was released in theatres in select countries. The film was Labor Pains and starred actor and singer Linsday Lohan.

Following this, Mendler received her breakout role in Wizards of Waverly Place, where she starred as a lover interest for David Henrie’s Justin Russo. She appeared in 11 episodes of the series in total.

Mendler would then go on to star in Good Luck Charlie, a Disney Channel original about a teenager making a host of videos for the newest member of her family: her newborn sister. The show received a lot of positive reception. Mendler’s next out was also with a Disney Channel Original, this time a film called Lemonade Mouth. The soundtrack for the film was released by Walt Disney Records, which features Mendler heavily. This directly led her to be signed by Hollywood Records, which resulted in her releasing her debut album in 2012, titled Hello, My Name Is…

The album peaked at Number 30 on the Billboard 200.

Mendler would then go on to star in NBC’s comedy series Undateable, being part of the main cast in  Season 2. Mendler then stuck around with the project until its cancelation. Mendelr would then go on to release more music, such as singles and albums, collaborating with artists such as Mitch Allna and Dan Book. She would release her new single, Atlantis, in 2016.

She would next appear on television playing the role of Ashley Willerman in the fifth season of Nashville. After focusing on her music, Mendler returned to the screen in the 2018 Netflix film Father of the Year, which also starred David Spade and Jackie Sandler. Her second collaboration with Netflix would come the following year, with Merry Happy Whatever.

Brdigit Mendler has been an activist who has championed various causes from very early on in our career. She has been a vocal opponent of the effect that social media has on young minds, while also championing environmental causes. The actress became a part of Disney’s Friends for Change, for which she also sang the campaign theme in 2011, titled We Can Change the World. She also participated in Disney’s Friends for Change  Games in the same year, where she led the Yellow Team.

For her work against bullying, Common Sense Media presented her with the honor of Role Model of the Year in 2012. In the same year, she also partnered with Target to help reform schools across the United States of America.

Apart from public interest ventures, Mendler is also pretty accomplished in her private life. The actress/singer graduated with a degree in anthropology, with a focus on medieval visual culture and medical anthropology, which she would complete in 2016.

Following this, Mendler would join MIT to improve social media experiences, a course she had championed from pretty early on in her career. This would be completed in 2020, following which she would start a Ph.D. program at MIT, while also being enrolled in Harvard Law School, which remains the case as of 2022.
