If you’re a fan of Marvel and a Disneyland/DCA park enthusiast or a bit of both then do I have some fantastic news for you! With the park looking at reopening its doors very soon, Disney’s California Adventure’s upcoming themed Marvel area, Avengers Campus, will let guests of all ages assemble with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The highly anticipated new addition to DCA will be open to the public on June 4th! Just two days after Kevin Feige’s birthday. When Disneyland/DCA reopens on April 30th, both parks will operate at a limited capacity and will only be allowed to Californian residents due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

For those who live outside of California, myself included, this is a mood killer. Still, I will be counting down the days whenever things are somewhat back to normal in hopes of planning a trip. Disney Parks Blog has revealed each of the new attractions Avengers Campus has to offer so let’s rundown what will be available when the land opens.

Disney’s First Spider-Man Ride

Right next door to the rethemed Tower of Terror aka Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, Worldwide Engineering Brigade – also known as WEB will be home to Disney’s very first Spider-Man ride called “WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure”. While it’ll a bit different from the Universal Studios Orlando attraction, the ride will feature the MCU’s Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker. At WEB, guests will be able to sling webs like Spidey. WEB will also play a big part all over the land so I’m very curious and excited to see how immersive it’ll be in person.

Pym Particle Bites and Marvelous Treats

No land at a Disney park like Avengers Campus isn’t complete without a place to eat. At the Pym Test Kitchen, guests can chow down and drink on an innovative scientific menu. You can savor items like the Impossible™ plant-based large and micro meatballs with pasta or the “Pym-ini,” a panini served by the slice or as a long, multi-portion sandwich.

The blog post goes on to mention that adjacent to the test kitchen is the Pym Tasting Lab. From there, older guests can order a craft beer, ranging from a blood orange hefeweizen to an amber lager, or try one of the Pym Research Staff’s Pym Particle-infused cocktail experiments. Avengers Campus will also have a shawarma food joint. Over at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, guests can select from a menu of intergalactic eats at the Terran Treats food cart.

Avengers Assemble

While meet and greets are looking quite different for a little while, guests will be able to have heroic encounters with Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and the Wasp! Villains like Loki and Taskmaster will also make appearances! Could a future meet-up like Doctor Doom happen? It’s possible but one can dream. Disney Parks will also debut their brand new Spider-Man stunt animatronic! Guests will be able to witness Spider-Man swinging into action high above Avengers Campus with gravity-defying, acrobatic feats have never seen before in a Disney theme park. To give you some idea of what it’ll look like in action, see this video down below.

Mystic Arts Training

Want to learn the ways of the mystic arts? At a nearby ancient sanctum, guests will be able to meet the Sorcerer Supreme himself Doctor Strange as he trains new recruits by bringing the ancient sanctum to life with powerful spells. Kinda in line with that Jedi training academy show that was at Disneyland. Anyway, at night the area glows even more vividly with majestic colors and lights, pulsating with mystic energy.

Super Hero Gear

No matter how old you get, you’re never too old to walk away from a Disney park souvenir. Avengers Campus will have dozens of wonderful items you’ll be able to buy. A must-have from what I’ve seen online are the WEB Spider-Bots! Each spider bot is customized to look like your favorite Marvel heroes! Other items that will be on sale are a specially designed backpack to carry Spider-Bots when they are not in action, Spider-Man light goggles, a take-home spider web kit, Funko Pop! vinyl figurines of Spider-Man and Iron Man, tees, etc.
