A new kart racer where this time you and your whole Disney indoctrinated family can engage with all their favourite Disney toons in heated racing battle. Offering a variety of Disney characters to use such as Donald Duck, Mowgli and Meg (as in Megara, not Meg-atron) in their own unique stylish racing karts to speed around, cut corners and  hopefully win with.  Have fun and don’t break your controllers when you lose in last place.

Perhaps this information seems redundant to you (the Disney loving fan you are) and you were already well aware of Disney Speedstorm’s existence. For months you have already been championing children with The Beast and your deep kart racing knowledge and trained skills, and that’s okay.

Disney Speedstorm has indeed been in early access since April of this year,  giving players the opportunity to test the limits of its Disney and kart racing qualities.  Soon Disney Speedstorm will have an official release though. Developer Gameloft has confirmed the release date to be September 28th of this year. Disney Speedstorm will be available free-to-play on PS5 and PS4.

For the current early access racers that bought the premium founder’s pack you should have no issues transitioning into the fully formed game with all the bonuses you have earned.

“Since the launch of Early Access, we’ve received invaluable feedback and support from players, which have been instrumental in shaping Disney Speedstorm into the incredible racing experience it is today. Our incredible community’s enthusiasm, dedication, and love for the game have been our inspiration from day one, and we can’t wait to continue this journey together as we enter this exciting new phase.”

Reception for the game admittedly has not been the greatest by reviewers of the early access Disney Speedstorm.  Naturally the words free-to-play have become quite cringe inducing for many gamers, often translated developer speech for pay-to-win.  Assuredly there will be a market for extra tidbits for hard competitors and Disney fanatics alike.  Let’s remember though, it is just a game and often can be fun (even if just for a select audience). Let the Disney lovers enjoy all the Disney-isms of the game, and keep the kids away from you credit card.  Oh, and never forget “If your not first, your last” – Ricky Bobby.
