Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is almost upon us. Now mere days before the Doctor Strange 2 hits theaters worldwide, it is time to address the inter-dimensional elephant in the room. There are rumors that Doctor Strange 2 will have the MCU’s most incredible cameo, more so than what Spider-Man: No Way Home had offered. And if this Doctor Strange 2 Theory is true, we could finally see how this MCU cameo come to pass. Multiverse of Madness will see the Illuminati take the stand as huge players in the multiversal arena. According to this Doctor Strange 2 theory, there is a high possibility the movie has already figured out how an iconic Fox-Verse X-Men superhero could be in the movie.

The Illuminati – Guardians Of The Multiverse in Doctor Strange 2
The Illuminati, as per rumors so far, will have six different superheroes from different parts and aspects of the Marvel superhero community. Professor X of the X-Men will be a member, played by Patrick Stewart. Anson Mount returns to play Black Bolt. Hayley Atwell will play Captain Carter and Lashana Lynch is reportedly playing Maria Rambeau/Captain Marvel of the Illuminati. A new leak suggests John Krasinski will play the fifth member of the team – Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. The sixth member will be Master Mordo, the Sorcerer Supreme of his universe, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The trailer and promo updates on Doctor Strange 2 so far have revealed the Illuminati will take over as the Guardians of the Multiverse. Anyone who threatens the cradle of the cosmos and aims to shatter the fabric of reality will face their wrath.
Doctor Strange 2 Theory: Illuminati Hold Deadpool In Their Prison
Ryan Reynolds has always played coy with the idea of his character’s MCU crossover rumors. Everytime he has been asked the question, he activated his Andrew Garfield mode and told everyone that like Jon Snow, he too knows nothing. But what if he is trying his best to keep things a secret. There are multiple rumors going around that Ryan Reynolds will cameo as Deadpool in the movie.
The theory is that Deadpool is being held in the same prison facility where Doctor Strange and America Chavez are being held captive as shown in official Doctor Strange 2 updates. But the question that now arises is – why would the Illuminati have anything to do with the Merc With a Mouth.
Why Would Illuminati Have Deadpool As A Prisoner?
Like we said, any being or entity that threatens the sanctity of the multiverse will face the wrath of the Illuminati. That is believed to be the entire purpose of the group’s existence. Deadpool is a guy who just talks way too much. We mean he knows he is in a comic book and hundreds of people stare at him every day. He knows he is a fictional character but that is besides the point. A powerful group like the Illuminati must have a solid reason for bringing in Wade Wilson into their holding cells.
The reason is that Deadpool has indeed toyed with the multiverse. In the closing sequences of Deadpool 2, Wade grabs Cable’s time travel device and wanders through the timestream. While on a quest to erase every mistake he has done over the years, he left multiple shattered new timelines in his wake. He even jumped across universes when he killed the real life Ryan Reynolds before he could sign the Green Lantern movie deal.
The Illuminati hold him captive because Deadpool tried to play God in Deadpool 2’s post credits sequence. That could be the only way Doctor Strange 2 factors in Deadpool into the MCU.
