It has become one of the most successful franchises of the MCU. Since then he appeared in many movies in the universe including Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s superhero trait may still run in his blood as he could not tolerate seeing a cyclist being assaulted by four attackers in 2018 in London. As per reports, the Doctor Strange actor and his wife, Sophie Hunter were in a cab on Marylebone High Street in central London and suddenly his attention shifted to a cyclist getting attacked. The cyclist, a Deliveroo rider, was hit over the head with a bottle.

Manuel Dias, the driver of the car came out and talked to The Sun about the whole incident, reflecting on the actor’s brave and selfless trait.

“Benedict was courageous, brave, and selfless. If he hadn’t stepped in, the cyclist could have been seriously injured. Here was Sherlock Holmes fighting off four attackers just round the corner from Baker Street,” Dias said.

Remarkably so, it was very Sherlock-esque, as he reprised his heroic act in Baker Street as it was also his playground in the series.

“He stood there instructing them in the street, shouting, ‘Leave him alone.’ I had hold of one lad and Benedict another. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He was very brave. He did most of it, to be honest,” Dias added.

Dias’ statement suggests that the actor felt conscientious about stopping the wrongdoing in his neighborhood. After all, he is a superhero and many looked up to him for that. He didn’t let anyone down and gained a ton of appreciation from fans around the world.

The actor was pretty humble talking about the incident, as per The Sun, the actor said that he “did it out of … well, I had to, you know.”

There are not many actors who would come out of their comfort zone to get involved in public affairs, but it was very heroic for Cumberbatch. A Deliveroo representative also thanked the actor for rescuing their employee with his heroism.
