Randy Orton Might Not Return to the Ring Soon

The Viper’s father and WWE veteran, Bob Orton Jr. shared an update on his son, who has not been inside the ring for almost a year. Orton has been absent from WWE due to a back injury from 2022, for which he underwent surgery. There have been several rumors about the future of the wrestler, and his father provided the latest updates.

In an interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, the 72-year-old legend stated that Randy Orton is training regularly and can make a comeback if he feels ready for action. However, Bob Orton Jr. shared that doctors had advised The Viper against returning to the wrestling world anytime soon.

“He’s training, so we’ll see what happens; I don’t know. If he feels like he’s ready to go back, I think he might, but again he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs [sic] to. And I think the doctors have told him not to. But Randy will do what Randy wants to do.”

The Viper last competed on SmackDown, on May 20, 2022. He and Matt Riddle lost their RAW Tag Team Championship.

Dwayne Johnson and John Cena’s return to the ring of WWE

As per reports, WWE is reportedly planning to hold a Night of Champions tournament by the end of May. There are not many details of the event, but it will be pay-per-view, and take place in Saudi Arabia. The date of the tournament is May 27, 2023.

As per reports by Xero News, wrestling star John Cena might return to WWE for the PPV and may wrestle a match on the show.

As for The Rock, he was last seen in a full-fledged match in 2013 at WrestleMania 29, however, he lost to John Cena. Later, the Champion faced Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32, but the match did not last for more than 6 seconds. Dwayne Johnson made a small appearance on the 20th Anniversary of SmackDown in 2019. There were also rumors about Dwayne Johnson’s return to the Royal Rumble 2023 and later joining WrestleMania 39. However, there has been no confirmation of the same.
