Jason Momoa has been in the industry for a bit over a couple of decades and though he is very well-known within the industry, he has quite the personality, a very open and joyous one at that. And since his debut in the multi-billion dollar comic franchise, his popularity has skyrocketed. Momoa starring as Aquaman in DC is one of the most fan-favorite characters, with his unconventional way of acting and his witty touches of humor.

After James Gunn took over the DC Universe and went ahead to remove many actors from the franchise, it was quite a frantic time for everyone though Jason Momoa was set to star as Aquaman in his sequel. Momoa is yet to be announced to be a part of Gods and Monsters and his entry ticket might be Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Recently Jason Momoa stated that Aquaman will be the next face of DC and this might be a hint for the success of his upcoming movie.

Jason Momoa Claims Aquaman To Be the Biggest in DCU

James Gunn has shaken up the entire franchise quite well and the complete reboot of DC might prove to be the best thing that will happen to them after their consecutive box office failures. Though both Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of The Gods was overseen by Gunn, it was not in his original plans. To be exact, James Gunn drafted The Bible and his plans for the future of the franchise in the form of Chapters in contrast to MCU’s phases and stated that it would surpass MCU in every aspect.

With such great plans up ahead, where does Aquaman stand as he comes from the Justice League created by Zack Snyder, even though SnyderVerse has been disregarded by Gunn, Jason Momoa seems to be pretty chill and carefree for his upcoming movie and is quite pumped for it. In an interview with Total Film magazine, Jason Momoa shared that he is quite confident about his upcoming DC movie – Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and claimed that the character might be the future of the franchise.

“I absolutely think Aquaman will be involved in the DCU. It’s on, bro – there’s no one bigger than Aquaman! But, also, I hope people are excited to see the new one. It’s fun. I really enjoy doing comedy. There’s some really funny stuff with Patrick Wilson. I really adore him. We had a great time working together. It’s like we’re brothers. There’s a lot of cool stuff happening in this one.”

This did not sit well with the fans, when the statement made headlines, they took to Twitter to express how Momoa is simply being ignorant with his claims.

The tweets evidently show that the fans know that the future of Jason Momoa is dependent on Aquaman 2‘s box office performance after Zachary Levi met a similar fate.
