The film’s trailer which was released in late 2023, filled fans with a lot of anticipation. However, it hasn’t fared in the critics’ and many movie lovers’ eyes since its release.

“There are a lot of missed opportunities that led to laughter for the wrong reasons. This movie has so much untapped potential, and it is a shame it ended up in a messy puddle.”

The Movie Cricket’s Sean P. Means propounded that the film wasn’t as exciting as one would expect despite its strong cast.

“Even with a couple of good actors in the lead — including a recent Oscar nominee — there’s not much to get excited about with “Night Swim,” the latest thriller from the powerhouse horror producers Jason Blum and James Wan.”

However, Stephen King, who once blasted the 1980 adaptation of The Shining, thinks otherwise.

Night Swim is available for streaming on Peacock.
