With many recurring players, Helldivers 2 has become one of the most popular games of the year since its release. It has managed to create a huge community of fans eager to try any new content that is released.
In a recent post on X, where the current CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios is looking for new talent to add to the team, some users took this opportunity to request something that would be practically impossible to add to the game—a story mode. They then compared this title to Starship Troopers: Extermination, which has a campaign.
Another Impossible Request Comes From the Helldivers 2 Community

Several times this year, the Helldivers 2 community has made headlines thanks to their passionate attitude toward this popular game. Generally, this active group of players regularly requests weapon balancing or some adjustments to certain aspects of the title, but this time they went further and asked for something almost impossible. This request from fans was made in a post by the CEO of the studio, who was looking for new talent.
Shams Jorjani, the new CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, posted on X about how the studio was looking for new talent to join the team. Obviously, users and players of this popular title took this opportunity to request things to be added to the game.
Not happening. Sorry bro. That's like building an entirely new game.

One of these requests was literally to add a story mode. Quickly, Jorjani responded to this user, clarifying that they were asking for too much.
Starship Troopers: Extermination Has a Story Mode, Which Led to a Comparison
![Starship Troopers: Extermination has a story mode but it was added since the beginning.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/17084100/Helldivers-2-Starship-Troopers-Extermination-1-1024x576.webp)
Jorjani made it clear that this would not happen because it would be like making a completely new game. A similar title to Helldivers 2 is Starship Troopers: Extermination, which has a story mode but was developed with that in mind. However, it has always been known that Arrowhead Game Studios primarily intended its title to be a game-as-a-service. Beyond some Major Orders, there will be no story mode for this title.
Other users joined the request, unaware of how challenging it would be to include this kind of content in a game without a story mode. But Jorjani was polite and addressed each comment in his post. Although having an active community always ready to give feedback is positive, sometimes these types of requests do not add anything. However, the studio almost always handles them with the utmost delicacy.
As the fight for democracy continues, players are hoping to see some major updates in the future. For several months, there have been rumors that the studio is preparing a new enemy that is neither bugs nor Automatons, but so far there has been no confirmation of this theory. The community also expects to see new weapons and vehicles very soon.
What are your thoughts on this kind of request to the studio? Did you think there was any chance a story mode would be added? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
