Chloë Grace Moretz is a seasoned Hollywood star with roles in iconic projects like Kick-Ass, The 5th Wave, The Equalizer, and more. After starting her career at age seven, Grace Moretz has already starred in over 70 projects, her most recent role being in 2023’s Nimona.
The 27-year-old has discussed possibly reprising her role in Kick-Ass 3 if the project ever took off. She said she would return to the franchise only under one condition and it involves Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Chloë Grace Moretz’s Kick-Ass 3 Return Depends on Aaron Taylor-Johnson
The actress was recently cast opposite Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o in the upcoming UFC-based film Strawweight. In addition to this, she has several upcoming projects lined up. However, fans are keen to see her return as Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass 3.
Chloë Grace Moretz first played the role 2010 film which also starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and more. The superhero comedy shows the Bullet Train star’s character setting out to become the real-life superhero Kick-Ass. But he gets into real danger when he comes across Nicolas Cage‘s Big Daddy and his 11-year-old daughter Hit-Girl played by Moretz.
Taylor-Johnson is slowly becoming Hollywood’s favorite pick for action movie roles. Recently Pierce Brosnan expressed that he would love to see the Kraven the Hunter star play James Bond. However, his former Kick-Ass co-star would love to see him return to Kick-Ass 3 if the project was ever being made.
Talking to Jimmy Fallon in 2021, Grace-Moretz said she would love to do Kick-Ass 3 to see how her character develops.
“I would love toMicdo Kick-Ass 3. I think it’ll be really fun to see where Hit-Girl goes and what she’s like as an adult.”
However, the star had one condition before saying “yes” to the rumored project. The People’s Choice winner wants to see the original cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson return to the franchise.
“It would have to be kind of perfect. It would need to be across the board, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Chris Mintz-Plasse and the whole crew back together.”
Whether or not the actress will star in Kick-Ass 3 remains a mystery. However, Grace-Moretz has several exciting projects lined up. Besides her role in Strawweight, she is also set to star in the TV series White Night opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Oh. What. Fun opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. The star who also starred in 2013’s sci-fi horror Carrie previously also opened up about crying after shooting an intense scene in the film.
Kick-Ass Reboot Was Confirmed Last Year
Director Matthew Vaughn who directed 2010’s Kick-Ass, confirmed a reboot of the franchise in January 2024. While speaking to Collider, the Argylle director confirmed that he had planned out a trilogy for the R-rated superhero franchise’s reboot.
The trilogy’s first film School Fight has already been shot. Its second film with the working title Vram is currently being filmed. The third entry in the trilogy will simply be called Kick-Ass and is still being written.
While Vaughn has been teasing the Kick-Ass trilogy for some time, no actual details about the upcoming reboot have released yet. For instance, it’s unclear who will feature in the trilogy’s cast or when Schoot Fight will be released.
