Tom Cruise has minted out one successful movie after another. From the Mission: Impossible franchise to the bankable Top Gun movies. But despite this, he has not managed to win an Oscar. While the fans want the actor to win one, him on the other hand was not bothered by it at all.

In a BBC interview, Cruise added that being a part of movies and doing something he loves was more important to him than winning awards. He added:

I’ve always felt what I do is extraordinary – being able to make these pictures and doing something you love. So, I’ll just keep doing it. I love it, I don’t do it for the awards.

He further added that while growing up he never watched the Oscars, so it wasn’t a huge deal for him. Further, many people in the industry have approached him with projects, adding, “This is your Oscar.” But for the actor, it meant nothing.

Not just this, but the actor also returned his Golden Globe awards in 2021 for a very specific cause. As confirmed by Variety, this decision of Cruise was largely due to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) lack of diversity.

You can stream Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One on Prime Video and rent it on Apple TV.
