Man of Steel star Henry Cavill has had his share of relationships. Over the past few years, he has been spotted with a number of ladies that have generated quite a bit of controversy and flak. While The Witcher star has been in a happy relationship with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso for over two years, he once had to face fans’ fury for dating his former girlfriend Tara King.
King was just a 19-year-old college student when the actor first started dating. In an interview with Elle, the actor defended their age difference while also stating that she was also a person he really wanted to impress.
Henry Cavill Reveals He Really Wanted To Impress His Ex-Girlfriend
Henry Cavill has been with quite a few lucky ladies. Now dating Natalie Viscuso, the actor was once in a relationship with then-19-year-old Tara King, a college student. He was 33 when the two started dating and even took her as his plus one to the Vanity Fair Oscars party.
Their 13-year age difference raised many eyebrows and he was criticized by his fans and others on social media. Despite the negativity and controversy their relationship generated, Cavill defended their relationship in an interview with Elle back in 2016.
Talking about whether he has ever been intimidated by a woman, the actor revealed quite a bit about his personality, before adding that he was in fact really intimidated by his then-girlfriend King and really wanted to impress her.
“If someone’s trying to intimidate me, male or female, I don’t respect them enough to be intimidated. But when I first met my girlfriend, I was super intimidated. I wanted to impress her. I was thinking, Don’t mess this up, man. You’ve gotta play your cards exactly right.”
Well, this just proves that anyone can be intimidated, even Superman.
Henry Cavill States Age Is Just A Number
While the actor was on the receiving end of fans’ fury and outrage, Henry Cavill continued to maintain that his relationship with his now ex-girlfriend was more than what people presumed it to be. In his interview with Elle, the actor was asked what he even had in common with his girlfriend and what did they even talk about.
“Everything. People say, “Age is just a number.” A lot of times it’s not just a number. It’s actually a real and true sign of someone’s maturity. But in this case, she’s fantastic.”
He added that the reaction he had been getting was only natural. Despite him gushing over her, the couple split just months into their relationship.
