That is exactly what Kathleen Kennedy thinks that the franchise should become more vivid in the future and should not be too generic. Talking about the new generation of Star Wars more adapted to the current generation, Kennedy talked with IGN’s Alex Stedman during the Star Wars Celebration 2023.

When Alex Stedman asked her if there was any hope for the current trend of Star Wars that she just announced, Kathleen Kennedy replied with an optimistic answer that would make the Star Wars fan quite happy.

“It’s as I said, I think quality is always everything. We want to tell resonating stories that really speak to what Star Wars is. I don’t really want it and none of us want it to become like everything else,” she concluded. “We want it to be something that continues to live up to the expectation that fans have. And that’s the most important to all of us”

The above-said statements were said in reference to the quality of the current Star Wars series that people have been reacting negatively upon. The only hope that fans currently have is with the hyped-up live-action series Ahsoka.

Rian Johnson, being a director of a great acclaim with the Knives Out franchise, had a rough time with his directed Star Wars trilogy. The films included Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and two other supposed projects that were supposed to happen.

The negative reaction to The Last Jedi however was so bad that the announced trilogy did not come to fruition. Kathleen Kennedy reacted to this effect and stated that Johnson was currently busy with other projects.

“Rian and I talk all the time. He is unbelievably busy. So we’re not actively involved in anything at the moment because he’s doing another one of the ‘Glass Onion’ movies and then God knows what else. But he really wants to step back into the space. It’s a big commitment of time, so that’s really on him.”

With the upcoming series starring Rosario Dawson and David Tennant, the series does not currently have a release date as they take their sweet time with quality over quantity.
