“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” the actor’s criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said in a statement on Sunday after he was arrested. “We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.”

Ads for the US Army featuring Majors were also taken down following the news of his arrest. The army’s enterprise marketing office went on to say that they were “deeply concerned” by the allegations, even though Majors is considered to be innocent until proven guilty.

During a chat with the D23: Inside Disney podcast published in March, prior to Jonathan Majors’ arrest for alleged assault, Stephen Broussard (VP of Production and Development) had discussed how Kang won’t be seen in most upcoming projects for the Multiverse Saga.

“So, it’ll set the table in interesting ways as you wade deeper into this character and what he means. I don’t think he’s going to appear in every film, as you say. Obviously, he probably won’t. I’ll also point back to what Kevin [Feige] said at Comic-Con, he branded the first cycle of movies was the Infinity Saga. We are in the Multiverse Saga. And that entails all sorts of things, right?”

Majors is set to reprise in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty scheduled for release in 2025. Although Marvel Studios has not issued an official statement following the actor’s arrest, fans can’t help but wonder how recent events would affect the trajectory of Marvel’s much-anticipated Phase 5.
