As Mortal Kombat 1 is speedily approaching, many gamers have been keeping a weathered eye on its production and have been eagerly awaiting announcement of more characters that could be making an appearance in the fighting game. However, many fans of the franchise are now going above and beyond and feel they should be a part of the franchise, like Dr Disrespect, who shared his thoughts about him wanting to be a character in Mortal Kombat 1.

For many, being a part of any game franchise is a big deal, but being a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise is something many fans would die for. It is such a major franchise that takes itself rather seriously, depending on the circumstance, I’m looking at you friendship finishers. Now that Mortal Kombat is broadening its horizons towards a more random collection of characters, many fans of the franchise feel that Dr Disrespect deserves a chance to be a part of the franchise.

Even though there has been no indication Dr Disrespect is even being considered for the Mortal Kombat franchise, many of his fans are already backing him with support, as they feel he is perfect to be a part of the Mortal Kombat roster.

He has also begun thinking about a potential finisher he could perform against his enemies. He would pull out his flip phone, say something to be determined, and then backflip in slow motion as his Lamborghini drives 190MPH into his opponent, killing them. They would explode into a million pieces and as he then lands he answers the phone and says “lets sign the deal.” It’s safe to say this just sounds silly.

How Would This Impact Mortal Kombat 1 If This Became Real?

Throughout the years, Mortal Kombat has had a few different aspects in its gameplay that have made it unique in its own way. But now that NetherRealm is looking to reboot the franchise and, in a sense, a start fresh, it would be more harmful to them than help them if they moved towards including streamers in their games. Even though it would be funny to annihilate certain streamers, it wouldn’t set a good tone for the future of Mortal Kombat.

That being said, if Dr Disrespect were brought into Mortal Kombat, it would have to be done in a professional manner, to ensure it doesn’t affect Mortal Kombat or NetherRealm to ruin its reputation. Bringing in fictional characters is one thing, but including a streamer who could bring heat upon themselves and NetherRealm is another. It could be something that might ruin Mortal Kombat, which is not what players want.

For now, this is all just talk, and there are no actual plans for NetherRealm to work with Dr. Disrespect. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing isn’t for us to say, but if it does become a reality, we hope that it gets better treatment than the popular artist skins in Call Of Duty: Warzone.

What do you think about Dr Disrespect and his hopes of becoming a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise? Would you like to see Dr Disrespect in the Mortal Kombat roster, whether to play as him or rip his spleen out? Let us know in the comments!
