Android 17’s final wish upon winning the Power Tournament was crucial for Dragon Ball Super. The fans of the series hold a common misconception about the Z Warriors. Their fights always move in a direction that contributes to the manga’s storyline. With that being said, the final opponent waiting for the Z warriors is called Moro. However, putting aside the decision of the franchise, there might be various plot lines unknown to the fans.

Android 17 stood victorious against several teammates, including Gohan, Piccolo, Android 18, and many more. He has always been a threat to Goku’s Universe 7 Team in the Tournament of Power. In the final round of the tournament, 17, along with Goku and Frieza, were faced by Jiren from Universe 11. Goku was already exhausted, and Frieza was out of the rings to finish themselves off, resulting in 17 being the last man standing and the winner of the tournament for Universe 7. As per the rules, the victor of the tournament would be awarded with the Super Dragon Balls and given a wish which would be granted by Super Shenron.

With the continuation of the Power Tournament, the size of the multiverse shrank consequently. There was a rule in the tournament which stated that once all the ten fighters of a team get eliminated, their universe will be erased. With the victory of Android 17, seven Universes were already gone. Since he won the tournament, 17 had to ask for a wish from the Super Shenron, and the character said, “All of the universes that have been erased, I want to bring them back”.

What’s rather essential to consider is the words 17 uses to phrase his wish. He says, “All the universes that have been erased” which can include Universes 13-18, which were wiped out by Zeno, and whether the Super Shenron resurrected those Universes or not wasn’t clear in the saga until the Fan Manga, Dragon Ball Kakumei cleared the answers for all the fans. Universes 13-18 do come back into existence in Dragon Ball Kakumei.
