Sparking Zero is respecting that as it reveals the latest training mode featuring the classic master and apprentice, with little Goten making a guest appearance. Even pro gamers need to adapt to the game before crushing others while playing. Bandai Namco made sure to train them the fun way.

More than the instructions shown via visuals, entering something practically helps more than meets the eye. The spiritual successor to Budokai Tenkaichi is taking this seriously, as they recently shed some light on the training mode in the upcoming Dragon Ball video game.

The official post on the PlayStation Blog shares the tidbits of this game mode that players are likely to see when they start the game for the first time in October 2024 or whenever they get their hands on it.

It confirms that the training will cover the basics as well as the advanced techniques they’ll be using in the Bandai Namco game. The basics will cover learning to fly like Gohan taught Videl, and Ki Blasts and counters.

Of course, the blog didn’t cover it all but some advanced techniques like Vanishing Assaults to gain the upper hand during fights were mentioned. We can also see little Goten making an appearance in one of the videos as a part of the character switch. This sure is going to be one hell of a training session, it seems.

Training is of No Use if the Skill is Missing During Battles

Jun Furtani, the producer of the game, has already clarified to fans that it’s not a casual Dragon Ball game. That simply translates to players needing more skills than usual to stand tall against their opponents. That being said, the training may not be enough to do that.

It won’t really matter if they are using the metamoran fusion of Goku and Vegeta, or a giant warrior from the Tournament of Power if they are up against a skilled warrior. Even Mr. Satan or Yajirobe can beat them to a pulp if the skill’s missing.

Meanwhile, several demo videos of the game have surfaced on the internet, and players may well see them devising some strategies in advance. It’s still a few months away and more characters are yet to be revealed. One thing is certain: every one of them is coming with a different set of moves.
