Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have been married for almost the last decade. Having met each other while working on the Fox sitcom That ’70s Show, alongside now convicted felon Danny Masterson, it would be a while before the couple connected romantically. They started dating in 2012,after Kutcher had been seperated from his ex-wife, Demi Moore, for almost a year, later getting married in July 2015.
But their story started in 1998, when Kutcher was chosen to play Michael Kelso and Kunis got the part of Jackie Burkhart in That ’70s Show. Their characters were in a relationship for almost half the show. Later, when a sequel, That ’90s Show, was released on Netflix in 2023, the couple came back. According to the story, Kelso and Jackie had been married, divorced and then married again a couple of times by then.
Danny Masterson’s Weird Bet With Ashton Kutcher in That ’70s Show
Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Danny Masterson were all a part of the hit sitcom That ’70s Show, where the three became close friends. So much so, that when Masterson was on trial for r*pe and s*xual harrasment charges, the couple wrote character letters of support for the 48 year-old actor.
In a shocking turn of events, Kunis and Kutcher once revealed on Rosie O’Donnell’s eponymous talk show that Masterson had bet Kutcher money to French kiss Kunis, when they were still in the show. What makes this weird, and puts yet another mark on Masterson’s character is the fact that when the bet happened, Kunis was 14 years-old, while Ashton Kutcher was a 19 year-old adult.
They played lovers in the show, so it wasn’t that uncommon that they would have to kiss a couple times for the screen. But Masteron making a bet out of it really turned the thing into something wrong. According to Kunis, it would have been her first kiss, when she locked lips with Kutcher for the first time on the show. She told during the talk show back (via YouTube) in 2002,
I’ve never kissed a guy. Ashton’s attractive, and I was a 14-year-old little girl and I was extremely scared for my life. He was very nice about it. He was like, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ Then Danny goes to him and goes, ‘Dude, I’ll give you $10 if you French kiss her.’
Kutcher even confirmed that the side bet was real, and he and Kunis debated whether he had completed the terms of the bet, with Kunis saying no, while Kutcher claimed that he did “French kiss” her.
[We] ad a little side bet going… You’re kissing on the show, we’re boyfriend and girlfriend. You would use tongue. Danny bet me like 20 bucks I wouldn’t do it.
Whether he won the 20 bucks or not, this just goes on to show yet another disgusting part of Masterson’s character. After the 2023 trial, Danny Masterson was convicted for r*pe, with 30 years to life in prison for r*ping two women.
Conan O’Brien Knew Danny Masterson Would Be “Caught Soon”
Back in 2004, when Danny Masterson was still a star in That ’70s Show, he had a chat with talk show host Conan O’Brien, where they discussed a weird habit of the actor (via EW). Allegedly, Masterson used to ask people to touch his genitals, a gag that had gone viral at the time.
Conan: So why are you asking people to do that? That’s the more important question.
Masterson: I mean, you got ’em, you know what I mean? Everybody should grab.
Conan: I’ve heard about you. And you’ll be caught soon, I know you will.
To this statement, Masterson simply replied with an “I will.”
Whether Conan was only joking, or it was somehow manifested, Danny Masterson was finally convicted of the charges against him last year. And his victims can rest easy, knowing he is behind bars, where he won’t be able to harm them anymore.
