Dwyane Johnson always keeps trending for various reasons. First, he was appointed to the board of TKO Group Holdings. Then, in a turn of events, Cody Rhodes dropped out of the WrestleMania main event, paving the way for The Rock to face off Roman Reigns. Despite earning his spot by winning the Royal Rumble for the second consecutive year, Rhodes gave up the opportunity for Johnson.
Although he has appeared on WWE shows several times over the years, his recent return to WWE Smackdown surprised fans. Amidst these, The Rock broke another record while he came last week in the ring viewership record. However, he also holds an unfortunate record as well.
Dwayne Johnson Breaks CM Punk’s Record
Dwayne Johnson recently made a Smackdown appearance, teasing a face-off between him and Roman Reigns. Fans weren’t happy that he was taking Rhode’s spot. While everyone was hoping that Cody Rhodes would get to finish his story after winning his second Rumble in a row, the engagement of The Rock was quite a surprise for all.
Also, many suspect the Great One might’ve been behind pushing the idea as the Black Adam star recently joined the Board of Directors at TKO Group Holdings.
Meanwhile, Dwyane Johnson has broken one record, which was till now in CM Punk’s name. The Rock’s faceoff video with Roman Reigns has now over 75 million views in just under 36 hours across all of WWE’s social media platforms. This video has broken CM Punk‘s return record, which was 72M views in 36 hours.
The Rock and Roman Reigns Face off Segmant is Now the Most Disliked YouTube Video in WWE’s History
The WWE and Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson find themselves in the middle of a social media backlash after it was almost finalized that it would be The Great One, and not Cody Rhodes, facing Roman Reigns for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 40.
The entire segment posted on WWE’s YouTube has become the most disliked WWE video ever, generating 2,44,000 dislikes in just over nine hours after upload.
To have Dwayne Johnson in the match was reportedly based on the belief that The Rock’s involvement would be the most lucrative option for the company at present, given his influential position as a board member for TKO.
Previously, the most disliked video on the WWE YouTube channel was a clip featuring Randy Orton, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon from a segment on the March 23rd, 2009 edition of Raw.
