Both Transformers and the G.I. Joe franchise have earned a massive fanbase and appreciation for years. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts‘ ending undoubtedly surprised fans since it opened the idea of Optimus Prime and the Autobots crossing paths with the G.I. Joe in a future project. Apart from this, in 2013 after the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura expressed being open to the idea of doing a G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover.
Even Jon M. Chu shared his decision to make a third G.I. Joe movie, where Dwayne Johnson expressed his desire to reprise his role as Roadblock, via IGN. But unfortunately, with Chu getting busy with Snow White and the Huntsman, Johnson revealed that the chances of a third installment got reduced. But currently, after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, it seems a crossover is definite, whether or not a third G.I. Joe movie gets made.
Will Dwayne Johnson Return in The Potential Crossover?

Although the actor expressed his desire to return as Roadblock in the potential third installment, he didn’t open up about appearing in the crossover.

Johnson’s return will not only excite fans to see him on the big screen in his epic role but also allow the actor to finally be in a Transformers film.
