It is a well-known fact that the DC studios were going to launch Black Adam alongside Shazam, but the Jumanji star asked for his own individual film to mark his debut in the DCU. Johnson surely tried his best to ensure the perfection of the movie from every angle yet it failed to impress the public. One of the things Johnson ensured to be perfect in the movie was his physique. The Fast Five actor revealed in an interview how he changed his routine to ensure the perfect delivery of his body.

Dwayne Johnson On His Training Experience

The Rock shared that he underwent an extensive training regime to make his body better. The Red Notice star looked back at his life experience and shared how his training has continued to get tougher over time. Johnson noted that after entering WWE his exercise routine got tremendously difficult but he made up his mind to take the difficulty to another level. The Rock gave himself a final push by making his training even tougher just to ensure a perfect performance in his dream project, Black Adam

“I’ve been one lucky son of a b*tch over the years to prepare for some really big competitions and games. That really started with my college football career at the University of Miami. We were national champions and had the pleasure of competing for the national title on two other occasions. From there it only got more intense, especially when I began my professional wrestling career. Getting the greenlight for Black Adam was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to raise the bar yet again.”

Adding on, the Black Adam star ensured to thank his trainer, Dave Rienzi, who guided Johnson in his rigorous training routine. The Rock stated that he and his trainer worked a lot on refining muscles.

“Doing that work with Dave, we wanted to bring a whole new philosophy and methodology to the way I push myself in the gym. There’s a lot of fine-tuning that goes on in our training together. Even if we’re not together, I’m constantly sending him photos so he knows exactly where we are when it comes to results. If needed, we’ll make adjustments at the moment. He doesn’t only care about the aesthetic, but also about my energy levels and how I’m feeling.”
