In a recent TikTok video, he only had positive things to say about Barbie. He even praised the fantasy comedy film as a “masterpiece” and referred to its critics as “insecure babies.”

Well, the world has been completely captivated by Gerwig’s latest masterpiece, Barbie, which has completely outperformed its projected box office. Also, not to forget mentioning that it has successfully ruled over the box office to become the third-highest-grossing movie of this year.

Marc Maron Has Harsh Words For Barbie Haters

Margot Robbie‘s Barbie movie got one more fan added to its long follower list.

Marc Maron, a comedian and the host of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, recently posted on TikTok about the movie, calling it “a f*cking masterpiece” and praising its feminist themes before criticizing those who found it offensive. He called those critics “insecure babies” and only had harsh words for them.

The Joker star discussed Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and called the men “a bunch of f***ing insecure babies,” who were critical of it for promoting woke ideology.

He went on:

“I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t even that excited about going. It’s like it does a fairly amazing thing to create a sort of broad-based entertainment product that applies to the entire spectrum, I think, primarily of women, and then just seep it in progressive politics and basic feminism in a way that’s funny, informative, and well executed in a context that is engaging is f**king monumental.

Additionally, he criticized conservative figures who expressed outrage over the movie’s jokes about men and the patriarchy.

“It shouldn’t be, but it’s pretty radical. And it’s intentionally, thoroughly explaining feminist ideas in a way that’s funny. I’ve just never seen anything like it, and I guess that’s, you know, the world is having the same experience on all different levels.”

The 59-year-old stand-up comedian went on to say that the film’s “comedy about men is inspired.” When Barbie first came out in theaters, it upset many conservative figures.

For example, podcaster, Matt Walsh called the film “the most aggressively anti-man, feminist propaganda fest ever put to film,” and Ben Shapiro shared a viral video, in which he set Barbie dolls on fire while denouncing the film.

Nevertheless, the host of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast argued:

“The fact that certain men took offense to the point where they, you know, tried to build a grift around it in terms of their narrative is right wing [explicative]. It’s so embarrassing for them. I mean, so embarrassing for them. Any dude that can’t take those hits in that movie, they’ve really got to look in their pants and decide what they’re made of. I mean, Jesus Christ, what a bunch of f**king insecure babies.”

Greta Gerwig On The Mega-Successful Barbie Opening

Barbie was written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach together. After the film’s release, Gerwig spoke with The New York Times and addressed the conservative backlash.

Did Gerwig anticipate how angry right-wingers would become after watching her film?

“No, I didn’t. Certainly, there’s a lot of passion. My hope for the movie is that it’s an invitation for everybody to be part of the party and let go of the things that aren’t necessarily serving us as either women or men. I hope that in all of that passion, if they see it or engage with it, it can give them some of the relief that it gave other people.”

After the movie’s enormous box office success, Gerwig has “zero” plans to bring Barbie back for another outing as she informed New York Times:

“At this moment, it’s [the first film is] all I’ve got. I feel like that at the end of every movie, like I’ll never have another idea and everything I’ve ever wanted to do, I did. I wouldn’t want to squash anybody else’s dream, but for me, at this moment, I’m at totally zero.”

“[I’m] at a loss for words,” the director continued, claiming that the success of Barbie had completely overwhelmed her.

Some people have tried to have Barbie completely canceled because they think it is offensive and too “woke”. However, many people have come out in favor of the movie, including comedian, Marc Maron.

Therefore, the apparent controversy has no bearing on the movie’s dominance at the box office.
