Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel’s feud has been the greatest fissure recorded in celebrity history outside of the rings of WWE. The epic and final showdown between the two is yet to happen but for the time being, it seems as if both actors have quietly receded to their own corners, leaving the matter to rest – for now. Vin Diesel’s infamous persistence for The Rock to return for one last ride with Fast X seemingly fell on deaf ears as the latter immediately disregarded Diesel’s lengthy Instagram post as manipulative.

But even after the half-a-decade-long celebrity feud, there exists no proper cause or rationale behind what originally transpired between the duo. Now, film theorists have come up with a new reason to explain what could have led to the fallout between the two action sensations.

Factors That Led to Vin Diesel & Dwayne Johnson’s Hostility

On the sets of The Fate of the Furious, there unfolded an unexplained chronology of events that to this day remains a secret undisclosed beyond the boundaries marked by the 2017 film. The elaborate crew of the Fast family has each chosen their own side since the fateful film and has either remained mum about who is to be held accountable or vocally criticized the opposite party for their flaws and faults. But none have actually revealed the production politics that led to Diesel and Johnson’s irremediable feud.

For years, the two have stated varying accounts of what went down between them. Vin Diesel had taken to Instagram on more than one occasion to call out for “Uncle Dwayne” and how he would do almost anything to protect his cast from harm –

“I protect the franchise. I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it.”

But while Diesel extended an olive branch by bringing brotherly compassion into the mix, claiming, “Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that’s me,” the subject in question looked more than willing to stamp out the flames of reconciliation by replying, “I have one big brother and it’s my half-brother. And that’s it.” The animosity has remained in a near-constant state of inertia ever since.

As Fast X gears up to arrive on screen with full force, fans and theorists have gathered to explore the events that led to the Fast family’s patriarch’s growing hostility toward Dwayne Johnson. One such theory posited that it could be tardiness that contributed as the leading cause behind the two not seeing eye to eye on several things. Johnson has been known in Hollywood for his incredible work ethic and it could be due to either him or Diesel arriving consistently late on the sets of The Fate of the Furious that led to the two clashing over maintaining professionalism.

Other reasons also seek to explain how it was The Rock’s inconsistent behavior toward his co-stars that could have led to a feeling of increasing hostility from his end while filming. But, given how Diesel has attributed the feud to his practice of “tough love” on the sets, protecting Dwayne Johnson from production politics, and the latter has infamously called out his male co-stars as the reason why he backed out of the franchise, the new theories don’t add up to explain what really went down. In the end, it seems as though the actual cause behind the feud may yet remain a thing of mystery.
